Where you live determines which schools your kids attend, how long your commute is, how safe you feel walking to your car at night, and how much wealth your family can realistically build over time. Most people sense this. But sensing it and truly understanding how it got this way are two very different things.
That's exactly what Keys to Equity is here to help with.
What the Exhibit Is (and Why It Matters)
Keys to Equity is a free, immersive exhibit now open on the second floor of Riverside EpiCenter, running through the end of June. Six themed zones walk visitors through the full arc of housing history in America, connecting past policy decisions to present-day realities. You'll hear directly from community leaders, housing professionals, advocates, and residents who have lived these stories firsthand.
This is not a dry, text-heavy history lesson. It's a conversation you get to walk through at your own pace and take something real away from.

What You'll Take Away
Housing inequality did not happen by accident. It was shaped by deliberate decisions, reinforced over decades, resisted by advocates, and felt personally by families and communities across the country. Keys to Equity makes that story visible and gives context to things people have experienced but maybe never had the framework to fully explain.
It's also forward-looking. The exhibit is an invitation to reflect, to talk about what's possible, and to think about what a more just future looks like in practice. Those are conversations worth having, and they're more powerful when they happen in community.

Come See It
The exhibit is open daily from 9AM to 6PM, including weekends. It's free and open to everyone. Head upstairs, take your time, and bring someone with you. This is the kind of thing that lands differently when you experience it alongside a neighbor, a parent, or a friend.
It's already here. It's free. And it won't be here forever.
