One of the greatest privileges of producing and directing the Prime People series is having the opportunity to sit down with individuals whose work quietly but profoundly impacts our community. For Episode #4, I had the honor of interviewing Reverend Dr. Ruby Yvonne Amos, better known throughout the Riverside EpiCenter family as Dr. Amos.
From the moment our conversation began, it was clear that Dr. Amos embodies what it means to lead with purpose. Her story is not simply about a career or a title—it's about service, vision, and an unwavering commitment to people.
Dr. Amos has been connected to the Riverside EpiCenter since its earliest days. Long before the doors opened and the facility became a cornerstone of the community, she was helping bring Bishop Del Bronner's vision to life. Listening to her reflect on that journey provided a unique perspective on what it takes to transform a dream into a destination that serves thousands of people every year.

What stood out most to me was her passion for creating memorable experiences. As the EpiCenter's Epic Experience Manager, Dr. Amos helped establish the guest services culture that welcomes every visitor who walks through the doors. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: every guest should feel special, every event should feel important, and every experience should leave a lasting impression.
Throughout our conversation, we explored the many programs she has helped develop and champion. From the 55+ Mixer and EpiFit Club initiatives to Dance Flow Fridays and community service efforts like Keep Cobb Beautiful's Adopt-A-Mile program, Dr. Amos has worked tirelessly to ensure that the Riverside EpiCenter remains more than just a facility—it remains a gathering place where people can connect, grow, move, and thrive.
As a storyteller, I am always drawn to the moments that reveal a person's heart. One of those moments came when Dr. Amos shared her definition of success. For her, success is not simply about completing a task or achieving a goal. It is about the character, integrity, and excellence with which you carry out your responsibilities. That perspective resonated deeply with me because it reflects the values that build strong communities and lasting legacies.
What makes Dr. Amos such a remarkable leader is her ability to combine vision with action. She doesn't just talk about empowering people—she creates opportunities for it. Whether she is welcoming guests, developing programming, supporting seniors, or organizing community initiatives, her focus remains the same: inspire people and strengthen the community around her.
Capturing her story for Prime People reminded me why this series exists. Every organization has individuals whose dedication often goes unseen by the public. Dr. Amos is one of those individuals. Her influence can be felt in the experiences people have at the Riverside EpiCenter, in the relationships she has cultivated, and in the programs that continue to enrich the lives of community members across generations.

As she reflected on more than 25 years of leadership under Bishop Bronner's vision, one thing became abundantly clear: the Riverside EpiCenter's story is still being written. And leaders like Dr. Amos continue to play a vital role in shaping its future.
On behalf of the Prime People team, thank you, Dr. Amos, for sharing your journey, your wisdom, and your heart with us. Your commitment to excellence, service, and community impact is an inspiration to all who have the privilege of working alongside you.
Prime People exists to celebrate the individuals who make our communities stronger, and Dr. Yvonne Amos is a shining example of exactly that.
